Who we are
BCON Services is a provider of rail measuring equipment and services to the rail sector in Australia, New Zealand & Ireland. BCON Services specialises rail infrastructure inspection, management, and track maintenance.
Through a unique partnership with well-established leading European companies such as Czech-based Commercial Railway Research (KZV), and Sweeden-based LATRONIX, BCON provides clients with access to industry proven and innovative equipment used for track measurement, assessment, and evaluation. Utilising data obtained from this equipment, BCON is able also assess and provide recommendations for optimised rail asset management and maintenance.
BCON Services also offers equipment sales, hire, consulting services and technical support across Australia, New Zealand & Ireland.
Who what we do
BCON Services works with clients to understand their rail assets and performance, assisting them plan and implement asset management and improvement processes to get the most out of their rail track.
There are three key arms of the business: Sales, Rental and Consulting.
Through the Sales arm of the business, BCON Services acts as the sole Australia and New Zealand distributor of equipment manufactured by Czech-based Commercial Railway Research (KZV) and Sweeden based LATRONIX. KZV primarily manufactures railway-specific measuring trolleys, which perform the same function as Instrumented Rail Vehicles for a fraction of the price. LATRONIX offer rail vehicle mounted contactless measuring system that can be fully automated and cable of recording up to 300km/hr.
The Rental arm of the business provides clients with access to BCON Services inventory of equipment for the inspection, assessment and maintenance of rail track which includes contact trolley systems and full contactless rail vehicle mounted systems.
Through its Consulting division, BCON Services provides a track measuring and evaluation services for track for owners and operators of public and private railway networks. BCON Services can provide detailed reports on the state of your track, and recommendations for future management of the network, so that owners and operators can ensure the safety of their network and get the most out of their assets.
Commercial Railway Research
BCON Services’ partnership with Commercial Railway Research (KZV) is key to the services that BCON is able to provide. Established in 1992, KZV is primarily engaged in the development and production of measuring equipment for the rail industry – chiefly railway-specific measuring trolleys.
KZV’s measuring trolleys provide customers with an efficient, flexible, and cost-effective alternative to Instrumented Rail Vehicles, which while widely recognised for their ability to support proactive track maintenance strategies, also come with a premium price that is prohibitive for many rail asset owners.
BCON Services works closely with clients to determine the specific capabilities and characteristics they need in a measuring trolley, then works with KZV to adapt and modify equipment to ensure it can meet the needs of every client.

Latronix
BCON Services’ partnership with LATRONIX is key to the services that BCON is able to provide. Latronix was founded in 1984 and has since developed into a well-established company in laser technology. LATRONIX is primarily engaged in the development and production of laser measuring equipment for the rail industry – chiefly on-train contactless measuring systems for track and catenary infrastructure measurement.
LATRONIX measuring systems provide customers with an efficient, flexible, and cost-effective alternative to dedicated Instrumented Rail Vehicles. The LTM Compact design is easily transferrable between rail vehicles in a matter of hours, with only a power supply and mounting bracket required on the host vehicle.
Latronix Track Geometry is a complete solution for measuring track geometry in accordance with EN 13848. The measurements are contactless, through an inertial-based measurement system and can thus deliver data for all important track geometry properties, high accuracy, and minimal maintenance.
